The integration and secure exchange of Electronic Health Records (EHR) are pivotal for enhancing healthcare delivery. However, the lack of interoperability among disparate healthcare systems poses a significant challenge. Blockchain technology offers a promising solution to this issue by providing a secure, decentralized, and immutable framework for data exchange. This paper explores the potential of blockchain-enabled secure interoperability in advancing EHR data exchange. We discuss the current limitations of EHR systems, including data silos and security concerns, and how blockchain can address these issues. Our study highlights various blockchain frameworks and their applications in healthcare, illustrating their effectiveness in ensuring data integrity, enhancing patient privacy, and facilitating seamless data sharing among healthcare providers. We also examine the regulatory and technical challenges in implementing blockchain solutions and propose strategies for overcoming these barriers. By leveraging blockchain technology, we can move towards a more connected and efficient healthcare ecosystem that ensures the integrity and confidentiality of patient data.
