Abstract

The advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI) presents unprecedented opportunities and challenges
across various sectors, including the legal field. As AI technologies increasingly permeate legal
decision-making processes, they promise to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and accessibility within
the justice system. However, this technological evolution also raises critical ethical and legal
concerns, particularly regarding bias, transparency, accountability, and the potential erosion of
fundamental legal principles. This paper provides an in-depth exploration of the integration of AI
into legal decision-making, critically examining the opportunities it presents, the ethical dilemmas
it creates, and the inadequacies of existing legal frameworks to address these challenges. The paper
argues for the development of a comprehensive legal framework that can adequately regulate AI's
role in legal processes, ensuring that its deployment aligns with the core values of justice, fairness,
and human rights.
