Plagiarism Policy

Plagiarism Policy for the International Journal of Advanced Engineering Technologies and Innovations (IJAETI)

1. Introduction

The International Journal of Advanced Engineering Technologies and Innovations (IJAETI) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of ethical publishing. Plagiarism is a serious academic offense that undermines the integrity of scholarly research. This policy outlines IJAETI's stance on plagiarism and the procedures in place to detect and address it.

2. Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism is the act of taking another person's work or ideas and presenting them as one's own. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Copying text verbatim from another source without proper citation
  • Paraphrasing or summarizing another source's ideas without proper citation
  • Using another person's data or findings without proper attribution
  • Submitting work that has been previously published or submitted elsewhere

3. IJAETI's Policy on Plagiarism

IJAETI takes a strict stance against plagiarism and will not tolerate any form of it. All manuscripts submitted to the journal will be screened for plagiarism using CrossCheck/iThenticate, a plagiarism detection tool. Additionally, the journal editors may employ other methods to detect plagiarism, such as manual checks and comparisons to existing literature.

If plagiarism is detected in a submitted manuscript, the following actions will be taken:

  • The author(s) will be notified of the plagiarism and given an opportunity to respond.
  • If the plagiarism is minor, the author(s) may be asked to revise the manuscript to remove the plagiarized content.
  • If the plagiarism is severe, the manuscript may be rejected for publication.
  • In cases of repeated or egregious plagiarism, the author(s) may be banned from submitting to IJAETI in the future.

4. Self-Plagiarism

Self-plagiarism occurs when an author reuses their own previously published work without proper citation. While self-plagiarism is generally less serious than plagiarism of other people's work, it is still considered unethical and may be grounds for rejection of a manuscript.

5. Authors' Responsibilities

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submissions to IJAETI are original and do not contain any plagiarized material. Authors should properly cite all sources used in their work, including their own previously published work.

6. Conclusion

IJAETI is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record and preventing the publication of plagiarized work. This policy is intended to promote ethical publishing practices and ensure that the journal publishes only high-quality, original research.
