Abstract

Threat detection is a critical component of modern cybersecurity, involving the
identification and analysis of potential threats before they can cause damage to
information systems and networks. As cyber threats become more sophisticated and
frequent, organizations must implement advanced threat detection strategies to protect
sensitive data, maintain operational integrity, and ensure business continuity. This article
explores the foundational principles of threat detection, including the types of threats,
detection techniques, and emerging trends such as the use of artificial intelligence (AI)
and machine learning (ML). By examining various threat detection methodologies, from
signature-based detection to behavior analysis, this article provides a comprehensive
overview of the current landscape and the future directions in cybersecurity threat
detection. The discussion highlights the importance of proactive monitoring and a layered
security approach to minimize vulnerabilities and mitigate potential cyberattacks
